I have been coming to Carvoeiro for the past 25 years but my wife and I are bringing our 9 month old twin boys with us for the first time in April and wondered if anyone can tell us where/if we can get hold of SMA Gold Baby milk????

Hi
This was a worry of mine when we travelled with our children as babies - they had Aptamil and I crammed a ridiculous amount of Formula in our cases only to find it was available in the village itself! The large pharmacy on the same road as Ele & Ela stocked it and other popular brands too. I can't remember specifically whether they had SMA, but am pretty sure they might? Perhaps someone in resort could take a look for you? If not in I'm sure you could pick it up at the Intermarche.
If you don't want to chance it I was made aware of the following company that supply baby equipment/supplies. Have never had to use them (though considering using in May to hire a potty!) so can't comment on their service, but I note they definately have SMA Gold!!!

My daughter was here with our grand-daughter last year, and she had no problems whatsoever getting everything she needed, formula, nappies , babyfood all from Intermarche'. All a wee bit more expensive , but plentiful.

Hi
My two both had SMA gold as babies and we could never find it in any of the supermarkets or shops. We made do with Apitimel but if you are worried that yours won't take a different brand I would suggest you bring it with you. May take up a a lot of room coming out but at least you will have more room to take home any goodies you buy whilst on holiday.

I went into the chemist near Ele e Ela at the weekend & asked the pharmacist if they stocked SMA Gold she had never heard of it, but they do stock a Gold formula of another brand which she says is very good. None of the supermarkets I've been into stock SMA Gold including Apolonia & the english grocer Let The Magic In.
