Hi I've just arranged a surprise trip for my husband to Carvoeiro mid January for his birthday. Question - can anyone suggest a romantic restaurant. I know this is going to be difficult as I'm sure a lot of restaurants are closed then.
Thanks

Amelia---I think "Romas" has most romantic setting--especially by the pool--and food very good too--not sure of opening time in january but here is tel no:
282 341595
Address:Estrada do Benagil
l'orange very nice too--ill have to search for my card to give you no.
Others will say "Bon Bon" --but I haven't been there yet.
wish you two a lovely time, Ellie

Had trouble the other night finding a suitable restaurant for wedding anniversary.
Bon Bon was closed for private party
Chrissys - closed
Primavera - closed
Roma - no answer to phone - I guess closed
Eventually went to Ele e Ella - great meal but probably not that romantic especially when my pal Graham Groom rocked up and persuaded us to go to the Anteak Bar. My head was so full of "romance" next morning I nearly swooned!
I think Via Italia is nice and cosy in winter. Maxines close second? Great Christmas decorations in there - they have really put themsleves out.

Ellie, I reckon Steve is pulling your leg! Escondidinhos otherwise known as The Ritz is an "economical" restaurant on the Sesmarias side boundary of Quinta do Paraiso. Its different.

I had quite a lot of "romance" on friday evening, I do think it is really important to both fill your heads with "romance" simutaneously - otherwise one of you just isn't !!!!!

No bloody good if your partner can "romance" you under the table! By the time she had stopped I was in no state to "drink" (if you catch my drift)

But at least you remember what happened CM---and it MUST have been good --if you were in no fit state to bend the elbow
You said "under the table"--perhaps your lady had read one of my previous topics--you know? Leg rubbing --leading to -------

I do not know what is worse a man who can't "drink" at all or one who thinks he can!
