would love to bring mother in law back to carvoeiro after many years of visiting she is wheelchair bounnd any info on suitable airport transfers that can accomadate mum in wheelchair as none of us are drivers

Judging by the lack of response maybe our forum members have had no call to use such services so may not be able to answer. We use Terreno Tours taxis for our airport pick up and have done so for the past 4 years. If you email Simon Greene the owner see if he can assist you or if he can't he may be able to reccommend ataxi service that provides space for a wheelchair. I hope this is at least a start for you. Simon is normally pretty quick on answering. I hope you get assistance so you can enjoy a visit to CVO

thankyou so much for the info will contact simon greene soon we had used wheeling around the algarve and to say we were terrified and disappointed was an understatement fingers crossed we can bring my mother once again over to carvoeiro

hi, my mother has bad legs and we do use a wheelchair if we take her out, she can walk but only a small distance. we had thought of bringing her wheelchair on holiday this year to cvo but i dont think its very wheelchair friendly. dont mean to put you off but the thought of pushing her on all they cobbles puts me off, so i think we will just have to taxi her everywhere.

As above you can try www.algarvemobility.com . I spoke to my friend there today and he said the problem is if the person is totally wheelchair bound because as far as he knows there is nobody who has a vehicle with a lift facility.
He could help only if the disabled person can get from the wheelchair into the vehicle which basically means any sort of car will do I suppose.
Wy not try them anyway - they do provide other services including zimmers and even a beach wheelchair which is quite funky. They also provide carer facilities if required.
They are based in Praia da Luz and I believe they know of some wheelchair friendly villas there. Good luck

Pushing a baby in a pushchair up the hills is hard enough. I've seen people in wheelchairs in CVO but it has to be tough going. How about Alvor? That's pretty flat and has walkways onto the beach.
