Just reading the newsletter for Feb. Has John handed over the runing of the shop, or has he packed up and left CVO. Gary and I get all our meat from John as I just loved the service and quality. I would be a great pity if it was no longer under his watchful eye. I know that he had a very nice assitant who is Portuguese maybe it's been left in his capable hands, I do hope so :(

Hi Gary/Gaynor
From what I understand, Jonathon still owns it and the young Portuguese man is running it. Jonathon broke his foot I think in 3 places, so that is why no one has seen him around. We were in there yesterday buying stuff.

Oh painful! oh well I'm glad if it's still in good hands.. Yes the Portuguese guy there is just as helpful and co-operative as John always was. Thank goodness I can get my lovely steak still.

Saw John, wife and 3 girls in Pau de Acucar yesterday, and he certainly seemed mobile. Have not seen him in the shop over the last 5 weeks, though.

The shop was closed when we went down to the village Wednesday and Thursday. Anyone know if it has closed for good? There was no sign on the door.

Shame but if you want to avoid supermarket meat, go to the local market.
