• Driving and walking tours of the Algarve

For those of you that have not found them yet the Algarve Tourist Board has published two excellent guides that cover driving and walking in the Algarve.

They can be downloaded from their website:

You should also be able to get them in the Tourismo - don't know if there is a charge.

In last months Portugal magazine there was a great article on the 300km-long walking track that stretches the entire length of the Algarve which was opened or will be open from early this year.
It is called Via Algarviana, The official route runs from the small town of Alcoutim in the northeast of the Algarve, situated on the banks of the River Guadiana and the border with Spain, to Cape St Vincent, the most southwesterly point of Europe.
Sounds amazing, something I would love to do when we are out there living, take a few days to do it stopping of at small hotels/B&B's on the way.

Aw c'mon, you're talking to wrinklies on this site, it'd take me three weeks to do that, I haven't walked that far since I was captured at El Alamain. can't get from the Cvo bar to the Irish bar without resting
