• Building in the square

Hi

On the webcam http://algarve-webcams.com/index.php?we ... iro_centre it looks like there is something going on in the square - between the car park and o patio - any ideas?

Well I was told O patio had bought it ages ago, maybe extending?
Could be completely wrong, but its time something was done with it.

Someone mentioned on Chit Chat that the building next to O Patio is being knocked down.... or did they say renovated? Jeez those memory pills are just not working today,

anyway whomever it was perhaps they can enlighten us!!

My Mum is out there and tex to say that the old Buildig is being pulled down but do not no any more than that will tex her later and see if she heard anything else

Just looked at the plans on that link. Very interesting, but that bloody music must be the most annoying I've ever heard on a website.

O Patio's owner does own the ruin and has had all manner of problems trying to get planning permission to have it converted. The permission has been granted and the work is due to coincide with the work in the square - to avoid additional disruption. We were there 3 weeks ago and were told that it is intended to create an extention to the main restaurant.

It was intended to be started some time back but a fire in the kitchen (which allegedly was not covered by insurance) put matters back a 'little'.

Apparently, it will all be completed by Easter (notice I didn't say the year)!

Apparently the owner of O Patio is going to make it into a Pastelaria, (a cake/coffee shop).
