It's often warm enough to go on the beach all year if the sun is out. The walls along the west side make a great suntrap and wind break. I've swum in the sea during October half term. It can get quite wet though.

Agree with laserb, it can be lovely and warm and sunny if you are in a sheltered spot, the evenings start to get chilly tho'.
Most of the restaurants and bars are still open as October and November are busy times with golfers.
Have a great trip.

We go to the beach all year round if the sun is shining! It is still lovely and warm here so hopefully it will remain nice in october.
I think most the bars will still be open. The ones that do close don't usually till after the october half term or some not till Jan/Feb.

Just looked at those Ray, and made me feel homesick for Lagoa
They're great videos. Are they your grandchildren (one with icecreams)?
The Beto Kalulu sound good too.

Last year we had H's parents out for the last 2 weeks of October, we were on the beach & in the sea most days, the sea was a damn sight warmer than it had been in May/June. In the whole fortnight they were here they only had one brief rain shower & that was about 6pm. I hope we're as lucky this year they're coming out mid-October this time.
