Hi Folks,
I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could give me any info on the Monte Santo resort?
My husband and I have booked a two week holiday there on the 21st of September. I read that it was due to open on the 1st of July but cannot find any info. Does anyone know if it is completed or nearing completion?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Jo.

I live very close to Monte Santo, it isn't open yet, and they are still doing a lot of work on the landscaping etc. Some of the properties may be finished, it's difficult to see, but a lot very obviously aren't - sorry

That video is very out of date, all the properties have now been painted in that very strong ochre colour.
In my opinion, a serious blot on the landscape, but its certainly noticeable.

Agreed Richard, and Jardim do Hibisco next door too! Don't know what the Camara were thinking, when they gave permission for their construction!

Is this a new thing in the Algarve. Albufeira's marina is a prime example. I don't think anyone likes these colours, well not the people I have spoken to.

Many thanks to everyone for their replies.....
They are sold out for August so its looking grim for anyone who has booked for then, at least we have until the third week in September.
Cheers,
Jo

I do hope they are all finished ASAP - it seems like they have been under construction for ever! Our place is also accross the road (next door to kteee) from Monte Santo & Jardim do Hibisco. We lost half our rental income last year because we could not expect people to put up with all the construction noise. Already this year our agent has had to relocate one set of clients because of the noise. Keeping fingers crossed that we finally get some peace wnd quiet when we come out late September.

Hi, I Echo that Rampage.
Although our place is at the back of Monte Santo and we haven't been bothered by noise at all. Just dirty windows from the dust.
When we were out in June, they were doing the landscaping. Must have spent a fortune on plants, there were literaly thousands lined up ready to be planted. Re the resort though, I still don't fancy glass balconies!
I always forget to put my dressing gown on

Just wondered if anyone knew any more about the Jardim do Hibisco resort as we were looking at property around that area. Does anyone know if there's a website?

When we were there in June we noticed that the sales office just by the T junction after the Solfeiras Hotel was manned several days a week sometimes until quite late in the evening - we did not see any potential purchasers in there though.

That's interesting to hear that it's sold out for August as we received a letter from the developer telling us that the habitation licence wouldn't be issued until the 3rd September and that no-one could stay there until that was in place. Seeing as how we were told that the place would be completed in May, and that we'd pinned our summer holiday on it being ready, it's kind of ruined any plans we had. Unless, of course, you know something different....

The sales office for Jardim do Hibisco is a wooden hut next to the site, there was a website but can't remember the url, seem to remember they looked very expensive for what they are, and having watched them go up I wouldn't buy one

Thanks kteee.
It wasn't one of those I was interested in, it was other properties in the area. I just wanted some more info on the resort so I'd know what I might be living near!
I'll have a drive up that way and find the web address.
Thanks

Jardim do Hibisco is very small compared to the monster that is Monte Santo, hopefully once they are both finished they won't impact on the area adversely, although it will inevitably make the roads busier in summer
It is such a shame all the green spaces that were here when we moved to the area are now being built on - and so unsympathetically, our next move will be well out of the area
