Hi all, were about to go back to Carvoeiro for the second time (cant wait!!!!) My wife was wondering if some of the lady contributors could recommend the best shopping malls or shopping towns near Carvoeiro - within 40 km or so!!
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks

Don't know what she wants to buy but we went to Algarve shopping near Guia for the first time this visit. Not too far (?20mins?) and they had quite a few clothes shops. It isn't massive but has quite a few if she wants a mooch around the shops.

Might I direct your attention to New Members and Guests?

My  wasn't patronising, it merely expressed my surprise that they seemed to have missed out the very page that is aimed at new members and guests - and they are a new member.

I personally find the FAQ very useful and helpful, but for newbies asking a question, maybe some personalized commentary along with the details is what is being sought and cannot (probably should not) be included in the FAQ.

Just a personal view.

Thanks for your replys holiday1 and Mr Crane. I had looked at the FAQ page but felt it was a little light on detail so i decided to ask for peoples recommendations. Thanks for your help

PS.....Mr. Crane, your use of the "eyes to heaven" smiley was a touch on the patronising side. 8)

 Oh for goodness sake pack it up you two, is this a forum for adults or kindergarten kids????

The shopping centre at Guia - Algarve shopping is quite good, it has a Zara and a Massimo Dutti (sp) as well as a load of other clothes shops but they are more aimed at the teenager clientele. couple of nice jewelery shops and a nice place to mooch about. There is another shopping mall just outside of Faro but I haven't been there.

Lisbon is great for all types of shopping, about a 2 1/2 hour drive from the Algarve.

I think there are a lot of very expensive shops in the 'golden triangle' of Albufeira, Quarteira, Vale de Lobo hope this helps

The sales are on at the moment so plenty of bargains at Algarve Shopping and Forum Algarve. Both have similar shops. They also have websites (are they on the FAQ, I haven't looked?).

Portimao and Loule also have nice pedestrian only areas with lots of shops for browsing and spending money. Heini

By law the sales can only start on the 1st of August (not too sure about that date :? ), to get round that shops have "promocões" now and "saldos" later !!!!
