Hi all

We are coming out to CVO in 5 weeks, can't wait! This will be our 6th visit. So far we have stayed in various villas on the east side. This year we are on the west side, (same side as Monte Carvoeiro) looking forward to exploring that area. Could anyone tell me the approximate distance and time taken to walk to centre of village from the road Quinta do Sol? Any replies much appreciated :)

It takes between 10 and 20 minutes depending on which way you go - either straight down to Monte Carvoeiro and past Paraiso beach or taking the road which brings you past Jailhouse and down to the post office

Thanks Kteee, now we can tell our two teenagers it's not a far walk! Hopefully they won't moan about that! Are there any restaraunts, bars, shops in the area too? Apart from Monte Carvoeiro 8)

There is Vila Nova restaurant and L'Orange - and the Pizzeria on QDP, but it's not one of our favourites!

Which villa have you booked?

We may try L'Orange, haven't been there before. We have booked Casa Fillipa, do you know it? :)

Hi Jojo I think you were correct the first time if this is your villa

http://www.elite-rentals.net/casa_fillipa.htm

Through the back end of Quinta Do Paraiso there is Escondinho. This is where the locals eat. Not the most stunning of places but great basic cooking at very good prices. We ate there about 3 times last year and will certainly be going back again. Read the restaurant reviews and you will get more ideas.

Can you post a review of your villa on your return as I am always interested in what else is around that area for hire.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Stevie-C
We will post our reviews when we get back which is after 22nd August. It's nice to share experiences of various places, and villas I think in CVO you are spoilt for choice, you wont get a 'bad' villa.especially if it is advertised through CVO site. Must admit we did start of with a "holiday villa company" some 6 years ago. We came to CVO through this company so can pat them on the back for introducing us to the area! But since we found this forum, we have had the courage to explore the holiday rentals via this site, and every one so far has been brilliant. You can book villa rentals, car hire, transfers etc through this site, much easier and a more personal service.

So whoever started this CVO.com off- well done! :D
