Hi all,
I am asking advice/ help: I am a restaurateur/ chef in search of a location to lease, or take over and existing operation and change the concept. I have opened and operated 6 restaurants (all successful) and I am looking to change the dining scene in CVO. Reading some of the reviews, I must say it seems as if there is a need for some change??
Cheers!

I don't know, apart from one, most of the reviews/comments are pretty positive.

Yes it is. Spoke to them about it in May/June.
There are a few up for sale, I suggest you ask any of the proprieters as they may want to sell. Choose a bar/ restuarant you like and go and ask them.

Let it be O Boteco, it would be lovely to see that restaurant turned around.

Why do you want to change the dining scene in Carvoeiro? It seems to me that it offers a wide choice of restaurants and cafe's at different prices and styles of food & service.

I think there is scope for some alternatives - whilst there are definitely the speciality cuisine restaurants, and a couple of venues that stand out in terms of quality and service, for the most part - much of the rest are interchangeable, they have almost identical menus and prices and we just each have our favourites for any number of reasons - not all of them to do with the food e.g. they remember you and pop a free bottle of something on the table, they are particularly kind to the kids, the view is great etc

Oh, I couldn't agree more....that place, if turned round and re-imaged could make an absolute fortune. It could also give us another upmarket restarant in the village. Competition to Elle & Ella.

Another kebab/prawn and stone steak joint would be lost in the mass of similar joints up and down the restaurant hill.

I thought Medina might do it, but still seems to be hedging its bets and not striking out and being REALLY different. To be fair, that's understandable.

I dont think Solferias will sell....but what a prospect that could be!!!

I don't think they'll sell either which is such a shame, they hardly make the best of it & it's a complete waste of the best spot in Carvoeiro. I'd love it, mind you I'd hate to think of what it would cost.

Okay, change is an operative word. How about, "have a positive impact" on? There seems to be a common vein of similar cuisine offerings. I would strive to be different and offer items not found in other locales.
My appproach and vision is, I believe, different from the others in my style and what I am looking to start and maintain. It comes down to location, location, location...
Thank you for all of the input!!

Haven't there been a couple of places that closed recently because of music licence problems?? If you want to run a restaurant and not a music/bar then maybe they would be suitable. Just a thought
