Hi, first visit on site, not a clue what I am doing. I am staying at a villa mid june and think thomson have directions wrong. We visited Carvoeiro last year and loved it so we are returning. We visited a beach which was not far fro a restaurant called Mona Lisa, lots of steps and a nice beach bar. There was also a large apartment style hotel, (not sure of name though). Based on the thomson map we should be close to this beach, but the directions they have sent indicate that we should take a left just before the Tivoli Almansor at the Viotto Hot. Turismo Lda office on the left hand corner continue up to T junctionand turn right, we are meant to be 200m from there? Please help if you can. Thank you

The beach is Centiannes. Approaching this from Carvoeiro the Tivoli Almansor is on the right before you reach Centiannes. The directions would put you on a small road running parallel to the left near Vale Covo and a little before the Mona Lisa.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions of good restuarants to visit for families with children aged 7 and 9? Also we ant to get out and about and visit places other than zoomarine etc so any recommendations would be great.

As you are close to Monsa Lisa's the kids will love it in there. When the pizzas are being made they get the kids up to make them and some of the grownups who still want to play. Its a good fun place for kids and the food is yummy too
As we do not have children I am sorry I cannot think of anywhere else but I know you will get plenty of replies

Oasis is a great restaurant we found in cvo last time we visited... quickly established its self as a favourite with a recomendation being the rack of ribs... antoher good restaurent would be the italian on the corner about half way up the hill although the name fails me atm. The chinese up the hill is always a good try and right up the kids street. Theres just a few although theres many more all worth a try, enjoy your holiday and Carvoeiro x

All the restaurants are good for children.

I went with Baggy and Sally Jane for a fantastic dinner and music at Mistral the other night and they have an area set aside for children with play things they aslo have fantastic murals to see with fishes. the staff are also lovely .

Cheeky . actually we had great fun , plus loved the dancing , couldnt understand why they wouldnt let me have crayons !!
Actually we went on Monday, there actually tend not to be so many children on this night ,they are welcome but its lovely for the music , the dancing and the fantastic food.
Another restaurant which is child friendly , that I also enjoy is Medina , most of the staff are parents themselves which helps , plus they have mini dvd players so that the children can sit on the couches and watch films or if the parents want to watch as well then they can have them at the table. Very discreet , and quiet doesnt disturb the other diners. Another enjoyable food experience. try the white chocolate dessert , out of world experience.
All the restaurants encourage children to bring their parents !!!!!
