Al Garb, many thanks for that. not sure how far into spain tarifa is.

It's hard to believe that portugal ( Algarve ) has no sea links to northern africa!! Or is it?

There are plenty of fast small boats that come to Algarve from Morocco but it is usually at night and you have to help haul the cargo ashore a bit sharpish :D

You can also fly from Gibraltar to Morroco, its about a 15 minute flight and is the shortest international flight in the world or at least it used to be. Liz
