TAP do fly direct to Faro. I am flying out for a weekend at the start of March, and my very convenient flight times are:
Out: Saturday 06:45
Back: Monday 18:20
Making the very most of a long weekend!
£140 plus tax.

I agree with Abbo, these are by far and away the most convenient times for short breaks. We use these flights about 5-6 times a year, and while you can get cheaper (Monarch, EasyJet etc) they don't have these convenient schedules. And in the years we've used this flight, when the departure board at Faro is showing many delays, TAP always leave on time. I know I'm going to regret saying that !
For best prices, try TAP direct, but also try Opodo.com where you sometimes get the identical flights for £10-£30 cheaper. Or call Destination Portugal (01993 773269) who specialise in this flight and also have special deals. Remain flexible on dates, and you'll surprise yourself.
I find that the cost of getting to and from the airport at either end often adds to more than the flight cost. I cannot wait until the new airport at Silves is completed, particularly as we hear that they're going to have a free Monorail direct from airport to Carvoiero center.

We always go Tap from Heathrow, it is very convenient as you land in Faro at 9.10 am, and we can be in our apartment by 10.30, we haven't found anything else to beat them for price and convenience!
Flights and weather

It's convenient if it suits you! Fortunately everyone thinks differently! I agree Biffa - early morning flights that require me getting to an airport for about 4.00am are definitely no good for me!! We've used many airports - but Cardiff (1 and a half hours drive from my part of the world) has been the best for price (either free or £12.50), location, driving, parking and a nice airport! Unfortunately bmibaby are stopping Faro flights for summer - I hope they return in Autumn, I will keep pestering them about it and hope others do too! We used them in November and they were on time and had the nicest cabin crew ever I think! (Also I don't think I'd like to be travelling from Heathrow/Gatwick/Stanstead at the moment!)
Now a serious question - what's the weather going to be like on Thursday for a week? It was always saying sun/cloud but now it's saying showers/rain for the first few days - please tell me this is wrong!! Also does the icecream/crepes shop still shut at seven, or is it a bit later now - hope so!!
Can't wait to be back again!

We flew into Heathrow from Miami yesterday morning - bang on time with no problems - in fact the place was heaving. No tanks to be seen, going back this evening to pick up my brother and then again on Tuesday to pick up my parents - you can't let them stop you!

Sounds as if you do a lot of travelling Kteee! I totally agree we mustn't let things stop us. I don't worry about flying and all that- it's just the hassle at the airport when everything gets held up I can do without! 3 more days and counting!! Bring on the sun!

Yes we have averaged one trip a month over the last couple of years - most of them to Carvoeiro but also to France, Italy and the US. At the moment our next scheduled trip is in June so I've got a chance to catch up on things at home now! That's not to say that we won't be back in Carvoeiro before that, we can never stay away for too long......
