We have just built a villa and are planning to send furniture/household goods down from the UK. We have been quoted very high prices from removal companies here - has anyone out there had any experience of this or can offer any suggestions.

Hi - re your query about transporting furniture, etc. If you contact the Algarve Resident website, there are always advertisements about 'vans travelling to UK - no load too small' etc. Perhaps one of those might lead you to something more suitable to your pocket?? Good hunting!

we are also moving to the algarve next month from essex and have also come across this problem with how expensive the removal companys are but i have contacted a company here in essex and there rates seem quite reasonable and they may be able to strike a deal for cash so they said to me.
