Very sad news about Jota Lita. If you hadn´t been told, it burnt down two days ago after the visa machine over heated and then caught fire.
Obviously no bookings being taken at the moment and Joao Luis isnt sure when they will be reopening.
I know its a popular restaurant with Carvoeiro.com so I thought that you would all like to know whats going on there.

It didn't "burn down" the multibanco machine shorted & caught on fire burning the counter. There is very little fire damage, but as you'd expect lots of smoke damage.....

Where is the Jota Lita?
I am always paranoid about fire as it was harder to get insurance for my apartment because it is over a restaurant. However, most of the food is cooked on the bbq outside, so not as risky as some. I hadn't even considered the multbanco machine catching fire!

Next door to A Gale. Very good restaurant, sorry to hear about the damage, though relieved it hasn't been raised to the ground.

Oh - I know where you mean. I have never been there (although been to A Gale several times).

How awful for them - hope they are insured.

I did say that it was the visa machine that caught fire, sorry I wasnt more specific about the level of damage I thought a general idea of them not opening for a while would be enough, I didnt intend to misinform :?
