With our furniture arriving at of the month and finally spending time in the villa we would like to go somewhere a bit special for a celebratory dinner.

Any Suggestions ?

Great stuff, well done. How about the Italian at Club Atlantico (can't remember the name but it's well rated)

We always use Julio's (between Rocha Brava and Centianes Beach) for any special meal - unfortunately they were closed over Christmas (first time in 31 years apparently) for holidays - I'm not sure when they are due to re-open.

They are always a bit more pricey than other places but the food is always excellent and, once you get to know the Maitre d', the service is always amusing.

We like to use Brasserie Marina above Benagil, or Casa Velha do Pescador just above the beach in Benagil for special events.

We like the Old Fisherman at Benegil and L'Orange.

Canada, where is the Old Fisherman Please.

Sorry maybe my translation was wrong. Velha Pescador - I think- It is at the top of the horseshoe road at Benegil. There are 2 restaurants there - haven't tried the other one. At lunch it has a wonderful view from the outdoor patio at the back. Food isn't too bad. Just a great venue.

Changing the subject slightly:

Now that your furniture has arrived - are you going to write the 'Dos and Don'ts' for moving to Cvo?

We are doing it next year and would welcome real life experiences to help us plan.

As for DO,s and DONT,s.

The first one is, DON,T base your plans on the original time scales given.
Add another 12 months and you won,t be far out.

DON,T asume you will stick to your budget, you WON,T.

DO visit your build as often as you can, builders mistakes or design changes can be expensive and add not just time but cost to your project.

Stay optimistic " Remember This is Portugal !! "

If you need a mortgage DO contact the local banks, we found them very helpfull and responsive. Much better than the well know UK brands that operate in the Algarve.( cheaper too ).

Always get facturas ( invoices ) as you will need these when and if you sell to reduce your capital gains bill.

If you do not then the money spent on your kitchen, solar, garden etc will NOT be taken into account.
You might think that " cash in hand " will save you money, it will NOT in the long run.
