Hi Ellie, I just finished reading your latest post in "Your Corner". Seems you had a good time despite the mishap with your luggage. I hope you'll manage well enough with your health and may your wish of someday coming back to the Algrave for good come true.

Thank-you for that nice message Heini, that was really sweet of you

Yes I did enjoy my 11 days and after our disastrous summer here in UK, it was a wonderful break to have some real warmth and sunshine.
In fact when I arrived home I felt really good, my leg/hip felt so much better.
If only we could 'bottle' that sunshine and 'feel good factor' and fetch it home with us eh?
I hope all is well with you and Peter..seems ages since I saw you both. I bet you're looking forward to your time in CVO in the new year?
Thanks again for your kind words,
elliexx

Yes Ellie, we are all booked for early Jan. to End March again. I have read the comments of my Canadian compatriots in regards to flights (Topic: TAP) and cannot agree more. But seemingly nothing will keep us from coming back year after year

As ever Ellies contributions just add to anyones knowledge of the area.
We too have had our " luggage " picked up by mistake ( don,t know how ?? ) but our guilty party expected us to drive over to lagos with their luggage and do a swap.
They were not very happy when we said that theirs was still at the airport.
After a couple of days their holiday rep returned ours.
All too often we see passengers grab the first likely looking bag only to return it to the carousel ( if you are lucky ) more often leave it on the floor when the right bag turns up.
Suggestion, however naff it may look always attach something to your bag which makes it stand out from the rest.

Thanks tbbr
and you're so right about the luggage. I don't know how the person mistook mine for theirs. Okay they were both black but mine was quite a bit larger AND Hub had put striking green & yellow stripe tape around the 3 handles!
Whats almost laughable is, their own bag had a tiny bit of yellow tape on one handle, BUT they also had a large blue leather label holder on it with their name, mobile no. and the address & tel. no of their hotel at Vilamoura!
The girls at the airport(lost property) were very good and tried the mobile no. 3 times for me. On my way to Carvoeiro I texted their mobile twice but never got any reply..my text read 'I believe you have my bag..yours is still at the airport'
'They' made the mistake, but I had to pay a return taxi fare to Faro & back. I wasn't best pleased.
On the return journey home, I tied some extra bright green ribbon to my handles...just to be sure!

Hi Ellie.
I really enjoyed your "what I did on holiday" report. I'm glad you were able to rise above the missing luggage episode and relax in the sunshine, things like that can often spoil a holiday. Liked the pictures as well, it all made me wish I was on holiday now instead of waiting till next May.
I do hope you and Hub manage to find somewhere overseas that suits and will allow you and your aching joints to find comfort in the heat of the Mediterranean sun.
Always a pleasure to read your memoirs, now get on with the next chapter!
Best wishes,
Jock.

We'll be over for a few days in Feb, so perhaps we will see an orange badge.
