Just booked our flights for New Year, can't wait. Frequent visitors to CV, so know it well, first time at New Year though. Grateful for any in-put as to the festivities etc,. Probably going to be staying in the Almansor and will be ambling (staggering!) down to end up on the square at mid-night. Going to check to see if Primavera is open, or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, look forward to hearing from you.

Primervera closed until Feb I think they said.
We go at New Year, best to book before you go, as not everything is open.
Keep looking and nearer the time places that open advertise, and they usually want a deposit, still a lot cheaper than in England.
We booked 55 Euros each, 3 course meal, wine etc.
Went in sq last year not much happened really, but sure will be there again.

I think Michael and Sharen Crane will be bringing their firework for the beach celebration. Plus a dip in the pool when they get back

Michael said he would be bringing an absolute cracker with him this Christmas/New Year.

Whether Sharen wants to be fired into the sky to be observed by the watching crowd - not sure

Most of the times I've been there at Christmas and New Year I've written a 'report' on it. Look Here.

I suggest a visit to Portimao. Last year there was entertainment every night and a great fireworks display at midnight on New Years Eve. Take a bottle of Champagne and toast in the new year with the locals. Booking is advised if you want to dine, it will be busy. The weekend after sees the arrival of the Dakar on Sat afternoon and free transport up to the special stages on the Sunday. I am planning to be there again.

Looking forward to our New Year trip again, we were in the sq last year and looked for Michael and Sheron Crane, even asked a few people who thought I was mad if they were them, should all wear our badges.......

We booked into Medinas, we were going to Ma Jas, but there are 16 of us now, and a few of the People with us really like Medinas, hes having a singer etc so should be fun.

can you tell me what sort of entertainment they put on, we have seen the stage set up but so far have only spent NYE in CVO, with friends and have always had a great night

Not sure what will be on stage on N year. Last year was a pop group. The stage was there for about 10 days with varieties of acts on every night.
