First Time in Carvoeiro

We arrived back in the UK two weeks ago after a wonderful holiday in Carvoeiro. Before we went went I was a regular visitor to this web site, and would like to say thank you so much for all the information that we got by all that regularly contribute.
Because of all the information from Carvoeiro.com, when we arrived we felt that we had a really good feel for the area, and we were not let down. One tip in particular which sounds so minor, but really was a big help, because were on a villa holiday, was where to find the supermarket, and if some of you may remember someone posted on the site about being caught short not having the correct coin for the supermarket trolly, and that a UK 10p coin fits, well I can confirm that and also passed that onto three other people who we bumped into on their first visit, we were old hands by then!!!
The road map from the airport was also very helpful as we were able to look out for the signs, not 100% up-to-day, but enough along with the care hire instructions to get us to our destination.
We were made to feel so welcome everywhere we went, and all the restaurants we ate out in were very accomodating and could not fault any of them, very teenager friendly.
We had a very good day out at the water park, and also on a days boat trip exploring the coast. Cape St Vincent was also very worth while, the views were stunning.
OK the down bits:
One down side was the driving, very scary when you are driving on the opposite side to what you are used to!!!! Fine on the moterways, but once off the main roads, because there is no kerbs or road markings, we almost had a few near misses, and the local people, although lovely, when they are going about there day to day business, do not make many allowances for us tourists diving on the wrong side of the road, we got tooted on more than one occasion. After saying all that after about three days we got the hang of it.
Found eating out about the same sort of prices as the UK, but was surprised that supermarket prices were more expensive and was especially surprised to find that the quallity of fruit and veg was really bad and twice the price.
On the up side
We will certainly be back.
Thank you Cavoeiro.com, we made a point of going to the ice cream shop on more than once occasion, ice cream is yum.
With very fond memories of our holiday
