We've had this discussion before and the price of car rental. I've just had a Renault 206 with A/C from YOR for 14 days at €400. So effectively, the car was €300 if you take the fact that we had no transfer costs apart from fuel. I don't think we could manage 2 weeks without a car.

no we have hired a car for the 2wks[from autoeurope - good rates] but our daughter is coming out for the 2nd week and we are away for the weekend she arrives so she will need transport from airport to villa

Auto-europe is in sterling not eurosI suppose it depends on what type of car you want and also if you sign up for their news letter you will be notified of their discounts. Have just tried for December/Jan and for a peugot 206 its 109.00 sterling for 12 days.
