In the UK the worst summer weather for 60 years and its not over yet.

South east europe has record high temps and drought with deaths from heat stroke.

So it may not be the perfect summer in the Algarve, but I know where I would rather be ( only 4 weeks to go ).

Not wishing to be too provacative, but if I understood the met office gurus, they claim that the heat wave in Southern Europe has contributed to the storms in the north. Apparently the heat has drawn the Gulf stream further south (further than usual) and this has brought storms that would normally pass over the north of UK down to the inhabited areas.

We've had a reprieve today with a dry sunny day here, pottered in the garden & sat in the sunshine....but it looks like Thursday is bringing more heavy rain
I go to Alvor in 6 weeks, so save some sun for me!

Woke up to yet again more rain - just over 4 weeks and we will be back in Carvoeiro. We cannot wait to get some heat and sunshine!!

So depressing looking out at grey skies! Had a few hours sunshine relief yesterday but not enough!

Roll on 24th August - make sure there is plenty of wall to wall sunshine left for us!
