Taxis from airport

Does anyone have any recommendations/tips for taxis from Faro?
When visiting just for a weekend we normally just get a taxi from the rank outside the airport. However, the last couple of times have been pretty hairaising experiences (I'm sure I saw the speedo at 160+ Ks! - even worse as it was 10.30 at night!).
The return to the airport has been fine as we book through reception at Rocha Brava - I think the CVO taxi drivers must be a little more chilled!

We book a transfer from Faro to CVO and back through Algarve driver on this website, never been a problem. Except for this last time we came to come home........we had been forgotten

After a few frantic phone calls we were sent a taxi from the square and because we were forty minutes late the driver drove like a maniac

In the end we were only fifteen minutes late.

I do hire a car for breaks of one or two weeks but not for weekend trips. Can you hire a car for €110 for a weekend?

Thanks Jackie. Algarve driver have sent me a PM so I have their details now and will probably use them for the next short break. Our next trip is for two weeks in August so I have hired a car.

I have hired a car for €115 for a week with Algarve Driver (mid season). I am sure you could hire one for a weekend in high season for around that. (and that's fully inclusive)

If you are staying at Rocha Brava why not get them to book a taxi to pick you up at the airport? They have done this for us on numerous occasions and as you say a 'chilled out ride'.
6 weeks on Friday - cannot wait now.

Try this web site I have just rented a car from next Monday to next Thursday 92.50. If you own your own home in CVO you can get a members discount from them of 10%.
