Canada, we stay in Monte Dourado 2 BR/2Bath and spend about 60 Euros in Jan and about 50 Euros in March. We are very conservative in our use though (i.e. use the dishwasher seldom) and if you have a closed in fireplace you don't need much extra heat, but then you pay some extra money for the firewood. Thanks Heini - from one Canadian to another- thant gives me a very good idea of what to expect. We have always had it included until this year. Staying on Rua dos Flores between Primavera restaurant and Algar Seco Parque. We should try to meet up sometime - we are there Feb & March next year.

The property management company I use have just started to include the cost of electricity in the rental cost. Obviously this has led to an increase in the weekly rate. They stated that this was due to new legislation. I can't confirm that this is correct but it is worth checking out.
