Can anyone tell us what is involved in importing a car to Portugal?

a nightmare ....dont do it..just sell your car wherever you are and buy a new one here...simpler and easier on your nerves

Can you be more specific? We really have to drive out so perhaps don't have any option.

for example.. a friend who had a camper vehicle ....the matriculation people demaded that the handbook be translated into portuguese...when that was done each page had to notarized..then they wanted photos of each tyre...and then it was the spare tyre etc etc..

agreed it is probably easier now but much much easier to go for example and buy a new Rover (35% down 4 years to pay no interest).

anyway for sure you will have to employ an agent to deal with it for you if you decide to import which is more money...anyway the decision is yours.
