A few months ago there was a thread reference the good, the bad, and the ugly of lawyers locally.

If any of the forum whizz-kids can direct me to it I would be grateful - otherwise people's recent legal experiences, particularly for property sale/purchase would be appreciated and helpful.

Do I understand property capital gains is 25% for non-residents and 12.5% for residents, with roll-over to a new property ?

Is this residencia or tax resident ?

Over to you Biffa and colleagues :?

Residents paying their taxes in Portugal are taxed according to their income bracket so the tax can vary and be anywhere up to 40% but they have the advantage of being able to roll-over.

Non-Residents are taxed at a fixed rate of 25% and cannot roll-over.
