I will be in Carvoeiro on the 17th of March for a week. I been watching the weather it's seems to be a lot of rain. We will not be having a car. So what can we do or see walking or bicyling? Also how far is the train station ? Will be traviling to Portimão for a day. And on our departure will be taking the train to Lisbon. Does any one know what times and cost?
or the bus would we see more sights

Look in FAQ - most of what you ask can be found there.

What I would suggest is take the bus to Portimao early in the holiday. It's cheap and dead easy. The bus drops you off by the river. There's a bus depot with details on boat and coach trips and also Lisbon I believe.

Not sure if Im answering this correctly but in 2005 I booked a trip to Lisbon (by bus) in Cavoeiro, at the 'Galtur' shop in the out road (about opposite Bellisimo cafe). We left Lagoa bus station about 8.40am. A very leisurely drive through some lovely countryside. Comfortable seats, TV & air-conditioning.
We were settled in our hotel by about midday, for a 2 night stay. Our trip was in March/April Easter period. Weather was quite good but Lisbon was chilly..so take a jacket
You can get bus timetables at the tourist office in CVO square.
Have a good trip..which ever way you travel!

Thank you all for your help. We can not wait to come. We would look into the bus to Lisbon, for we would like to see more of the country too.

You're welcome tm..I enjoyed the trip.It cost me 30 euros return journey and you see lots of countryside and the drive up to and over the bridge into Lisbon is quite something! I never realised the width of the river Tejo!
My friend and I stayed at the hotel Zurique which was very reasonable & clean and lot of choice for the 'help yourself' breakfast
The hotel was also booked for us at the Galtur shop,CVO. There was a funny incident when the young girl there was booking it over the phone...the girl at the other end(in hotel) thought my first name was 'Mrs' and it took ages for the first girl to explain it was my 'title'

Very nice folk at the Galtur shop!
