Sadly the owner of Bistroquet died suddenly last year, I'm not sure what is happening with the restaurant now.

"Le Bistroquet" has been sold to a dutch guy. Currently they are refurbishing the place totally. It will not be a restaurant anymore, but more like a bar where one can also have tapas and/or 'simple' meals with a brasilian touch. Inside will be a rather long bar (13 meters) with bar stools, surrounded by tables and chairs. Planning is to re-open within a couple of weeks.

Rob, will it retain the same name or will it be called something else? If it's changed I will need to alter FAQ.

Michael, name will be changed, probably into "Boa Vida". As soon as I know for sure I will let you know.

"A Boa Vida" (fka le Bistroquet) has opened last weekend. It has been totally refurbished, with a very large bar on one side, and tables and chairs on the other side. The menu looks nice (not tried out yet) with a brasilian touch. Hard to say whether it is a bar when you can have a bite, or a restaurant where you can have a drink...
Owner is Roel Gritter who has been working in the Algarve as a golf pro for some 20 years.

Quite a 'dutch row' again now on that part of the Estrada do Farol; from left to right: Saloon (Willy), Happy's (Libbe), Maxime (John & Francien), Carvoeiro Bar (Hans & Joke), A Boa Vida (Roel).

Hi All,

This is my first post so please be gentle with me ! :)

As Le Bistroquet is sadly no more , does anyone know the wherabouts of the wonderful and friendly Asian waiter who worked there for a least the past 5 years ever since myself and my partner started coming to CVO.

We never did get to ask his name, but he always provided a lovely welcome for us.

Many thanks

Phil

He works in a restaurant across the street, think it is A Galé.

Gentle enough?
