We're new to the site.
We've been CVO 7/8 times in the past (& love it), however, always in the Spring/Summer. We've got a week in an apartment, commencing 28th Dec.
I've looked through most of the various posts regarding New Year, however, I was wondering what Bars/Restaurants are actually open ?
Will places like Sully's/Smilers/Mungo's/A Gale Restaurant/ Rascals etc be open at this time of year ? and if they are do you have to book a table for New Years Eve at any of the Restaurants ?
We gather the Weather can be quite kind during the day (may even manage a dip !!), however, it can get a bit nippy at night - is it Woolly hats, Fleecy coats etc ?
Sorry for all the questions!!!! Are places like Zoo Marine & Slide & Splash open ??
Finally, Whats it like around the Square on New Years Eve, are all the Bars etc busy ??

ps If anyone is in Sullys around the 28th Dec - 4th Jan we're the Man U family !!!!!!!

THis year along with a few thousand others we will be on the beach at albufeira, next year a bit older and wiser hopefully we will be resident in CVO.
We would also like to know if the Camara and local business gets involved in the same way the do elswhere in the algarve.
AS for the weather by midnight we are usually more that full of liquid inner warmth so it does not matter that much.

New Year is a very important celebration for the Portuguese lots of places close for family parties and those that do not close often charge for an inclusive night ( dinner and drinks, prices can be high). The moral of the story if you want to go out book well in advance. Taxis for getting home are in short supply.
Why not celebrate at home, have the best food and drink you can get and not have to worry at 4am in the morning that somebody has jumped into the taxi that you prebooked weeks ago.

Hi Forgot to mention the Police have a zero tolerance period over Xmas / New Year so do not even think of drinking and driving
