I am coming out with my son (it will be his first visit) just for the weekend. He is only 5 and is really hoping that the weather will be sunny so he can go on the beach and play. The BBC forecase says sun everyone in the Algarve (but it always does so I tend to discount that one). Wunderground say that it will rain on Thursday but the weekend looks a bit brighter. Anyone have any access to a proper local forecast please? Any good news much appreciated (although bad news will at least mean I take the right clothes with me!)

oooh - that looks promising for Saturday. We are on the early morning 7.25 flight from Luton, so should be there by midday Friday easily. Maybe go to Zoo marine in the afternoon on Friday and then beach on Saturday.

Hi fmm - if you are wondering what to do on Sunday you will find my wife and two boys - 4 and 6 - at Playoasis for the wonderful roast lunch from about 12pm - well worth a trip if the weather is not so good!

Unfortunately I am stuck back in the office in the UK

Have a good weekend whatever you do
