I am organising a lawn bowls open day on behalf of the St. Patrick's Society this coming Friday (13th) and we have a few vacancies so it occurred to me that there might be forumers (local or visiting) who may be interested.

Details are starting 10.30 with lunch (choice of Beef Bourginion, Chicken and Leek pie or Mince and Onion pie, with drinks and sweet included at a total cost of 25 euros.
Players will be a mix of absolute beginners (tuition available) and regular bowlers, but it is essentially a fun day.

If I were there still, I'd have a go. Mind you my last bowling experience goes way way back. An uncle of mine taught me when I was 'knee high', in his huge back garden...I loved it..

Glad to see you made it back to that wondrous and verdant isle called Britain !! The constant sun, warm sea and pool, cheap food and booze here gets one down at times

The St. Patrick's Society is basically for the Irish, but like the St. Andrew's Society is set up with a bit of poetic licence - hence this Yorkshireman getting involved.
