Re: Which Supermarket?
I think that different brands use different colour schemes. We've been caught out before.
This is one of those cases where you just need to read the label and learn the Portuguese words

Re: Which Supermarket?
I think the colour schemes also seem to vary between fresh milk and long life milk.
My experience is that long life semi skimmed is nearly always in a green carton on an open shelf but fresh semi skimmed is nearly always in a blue carton and should be in the chiller
As suggested learn the Portuguese and read the carton.

Re: Which Supermarket?
Cor blimey guv - I only want to make a decent cup of tea
I read on one ex-pat site that Portuguse "full" fat was the equivalent of English semi-skimmed but I reckon it is too creamy - and if that's the case, is meio the equivalent of skimmed and so what is magro supposed to be?

Re: Which Supermarket?
Well, i don't agree....meio gordo is what we have in tea out here & I reckon its like semi-skinned I have at home.....I use magro in coffee ( heated) and reckon its like skimmed milk back in the UK, white & watery, but my wife drinks it neat ( urggh!)I read on one ex-pat site that Portuguse "full" fat was the equivalent of English semi-skimmed but I reckon it is too creamy - and if that's the case, is meio the equivalent of skimmed and so what is magro supposed to be?

Re: Which Supermarket?
Well who would have believed it no one really has any idea, save for green, blue and pink cartons.
Buy any colour you fancy and if you don't like it choose another colour on your next visit. EASY PEASY
