For more years than I care to remember, I have watched all of the above carry-on and have always wondered why they do it. The flights have always left at the designated time (except for technical or weather reasons) and no amount of running, queue jumping, walking slow or blocking the aisle on the aircraft has ever made the slightest difference. We all leave at the same time. So, take it easy and relax. Your either going on holiday or coming back. Don't let others spoil it for you! 8)

 I agree with you Dalcassian, it really doesn't make the slightest bit of difference as they always have enough seats for the number of passengers booked. It is really nice to sit with your family or partner but if you cant it is not a huge problem surely?

djprescott, as Bristol is so close to us and Easyjet is by far the cheapest Airline then we tend to stick with them. That is how we are able to get out to our house so often during the Autumn, Winter and Spring, with the winter sales I usually only spend £40 return per person on average. Flybe go from Exeter but only on a Tues, Thurs and Sat which does not always fit in with our plans. In the summer we do always treat ourselves to a good flight for our two week holiday and fly from Gatwick with British Airways useing up Hubbies airmiles, but it is a drive to get there from Somerset, still at least we get good seats, good food and free wine!!!!

When I have had experience of passengers sitting in seat A & C,etc, I have found if you speak to the cabin crew, they will ask them to move if you are unable to sit next to your travelling companion.

With regard to Easyjet, Lesley, the point I am making is that, if you are not happy with the airline, (it sounds like you are) then take your business elsewhere. Too many people complain but still continue to fly with them. They must like beating themselves up!!!

You get what you pay for. On the telly disgruntled passengers moan and groan about everything as if they'd actually purchased the plane rather than a cheap flight on it!

I'll be flying EJ tonight. If one only has hand baggage, you can now also print your own boarding card on-line and bypass all the checkin queues. I'll be arriving at Faro 40 mins before my flight ! The printed boarding card has "group D" so I'll be last on anyway, and I'll sit between Mr A and Mrs C - or more likely, politely invite them to sit together.

I'd rather spend an extra hour in CVO than fight for that "special seat" on a short flight.

 I agree djprescott, about people getting soooo angry and pushy at the check in, we are happy with Easyjet, we only ever take hand luggage so can board and depart really quickly. The number of people who will try and push past you to get to the front when boarding happens is ridiculous. This is why we travel with British Airways (usually Club) in the summer, it starts our holiday off with a nice relaxed, comfortable flight.

  hehe Dave, as we have a house out there we leave a Portugal wardrobe of clothes for use when we are out, then all I need to take with me is something smart to go out for dinner or to friends. Works really well. Means we have room to take out a few 'essentials' like branded tea bags, Thai spices/sauces (as we love Thai food) and any toiletries we cant get in the supermarket.
