New Year

Post by Ian Lennox »

This Christmas/New Year will be about the 6th one we have spent in cvo.

On New Year's Eve we just mosey out onto the bedroom terrace at just before midnight and watch the spectacular sight of fireworks all the way down the coast and up into the mountains - it looks like each and every village is trying to out-do its neighbour!

Invariably the display goes on for at least half-an-hour and it is always quite magnificent.

New Years Eve

Post by Caron »

Does anybody know the phone number or e-mail of Medina's?

Also does anyone know if any of the Restaurants in Carvoeiro have singers or entertainment on New Year's Eve?

Many thanks,
Karen.

If you are over 16 and under 60 then CVO is hardly a new year hotspot (I cant see this year being any different to the last 6!)
HOWEVER
If you are with friends and have consumed a couple of glasses of champagne then to be honest you could be anywhere in the world.
I have generally found the whole set menu and "entertainment" option in the village very dissapointing, overpriced and ultimatly dull. My expectations are never great but CVO really is not all that for NYE.
Saying that, there are places in the Algarve that do still have life, Albufeira always puts on a bit of a show.
As with most things over here it is what you make of it and it cant be that bad if I choose to stay every year!!!!
