hello, i have just joined.my wife booked last night for carvoeiro we are arriving on sunday and staying at the colina da lapa. how far is the hotel from the town,beach etc. is there any good walking in the area and will i be able to buy a good walking map in town.

Welcome Chubbs. You will love Colina da Lapa. We have stayed there for a long stay 6 weeks for the past 2 winters. Regretfully they are not open for long stays this winter so have rented a private villa in CVO. It is a long walk to town - understand that cabs are cheap and there may be a shuttle that they run from the resort to town. Enjoy! There are a few restaurants very nearby in walking distance.

There are some nice cliff walks in the area but you might like to try the nature reserve at Armacao de Pera which is very popular with walkers.

Hi Chubbs,
If you go to page 5 on general Carvoeiro theres a topic called rambling anyone posted by Jose A. theres loads of walks suggested, also where and how to obtain maps.
