Hotel Carvoeiro Sol

Post by Trotter »

Whilst following a link from this site onto the Hotel Carvoeiro Sol website, I noticed there is a 'Special Rate' for 'Carvoeiro.Com' visitors.

The 'Special' price for March-07 is shown as 26.50€ per person for a twin-bed room with inland view, which equates to 53.00€ per room per night.

However, the 'Normal Tariff' shows a price of just 50.00€ for the same room.

So it seems they penalise guests who have visited the Carvoeiro.com website.

I have just looked for myself as I couldn't believe it, however you seem to be right. There must be a mistake somewhere. We stayed there in Feb quoting "Carvoeiro.com" as they ask and saved about 6 euros per night.

Hi Karen, I'm sure there is a mistake as you say & I've emailed the hotel for clarification & I'll post their response when/if I get one.

Just out of interest how did you rate the hotel?

Cheers,
Trotter.

Hi Trotter

We only stayed for a weekend, it was Ok, rooms were clean and comfortable, our room opened up onto the pool area, which was very nice. The breakfast was satisfying, however the coffee wasn't nice at all, even the breakfast fruit juice wasn't what I expected.
However, I would say that the best thing it has going for it is it's position, right on the beach and in the centre of the village.

I contacted Carvoeiro Sol to enquire about a booking in March just for one night. They have replied and the prices are different than advertised. For a twin bedroom it will cost 46 euros and for a single it will cost 28 euros.
It just shows you it is always advisable to make the enquiry.

My husband and I stayed here a couple of years ago and were really pleased with our choice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We got a seaview room (which we hadnt booked or paid a supplement for) which was a lovely surprise. Breakfast wasnt that good but then again it was comparable to the mirachoro and the almansor. The pool area was nice and sheltered and the pool heated if I remember correctly. The only downside was that a man died in the pool while we sunbathed there!! Obviously not the hotel's fault but an awful memory all the same. I would stay there again though if only for its location and convenience.

Hi,

I've had a response from the hotel & as you say Karen there is an error on the website. The price for March should be 23.00€ pp, so at 46.00€ for the room it is a saving of 4.00€ per night.

Cheers,
Trotter

 Hi Trotter,
Hotel is good, clean and the heated pool is a bonus. You can have snacks and drinks by the pool and a dip b4 breckie is great. We have stayed there a few times and cannot fault it compared with others in the area.
As mentioned b4 breakfast is the same as all. At least you can help yourself and eat as much or as little as you like. The dinner menu is much as it is in comparable hotels. But with all the lovely places to eat about CVO, its best 2 stick 2 B & B at the hotel. They do a cocktail and early bird drinks at 6 ish and that is great fun meeting others at the hotel cos a lot of Brits stay there. The staff are helpful and very friendly. Position is fab. Enjoy.
