First visit Next Week!

Post by stairpark »

Hi everyone, I am really looking forward to my family's first visit to Carvoeiro next week for 10 days, I have heard so many positive things about the town and area. As a family of 5 we love to eat out at nights, so any suggestions as to family friendly restaurants around the place, and rough costs for a decent meal?
Also my two young boys are football daft and I see the local Portimao team are playing at home when we are there, anybody know costs to get in and if you pay on the gate or need tickets?

Thanks guys!!

I understand tickets are 10 Euros each and average attendance is around 1100 although the stadium holds 6,000, so I presume you can pay at the gate.

Enjoy !

We've been to cvo 6 times in the last 2 years and can honestly say we've yet to have a bad meal and have tried loads of restaurants , obviously some better than others but none that were bad. You will enjoy trying them all out im sure.

You'll get a different answer from everyone!

Cheapest good value at 9.5€/head, 2 course incl wine/coffee/brandy, is Escondidinho.

Best Value at 15/20€/head is la Tasquina in Lagoa...behind fish market

Best pricey ones are Chrissy's inLagoa at 35€/head or O Baradas on way to Silves, about the same.

Personally, I think most of the CVO ones are a bit touristy, round about 20 €/head....but many will differ i am sure!

Have a great time!

My daughter & family have just come back from a week there & raved about lunch in the square at Ferraguedo.....the one on the square , back right, looking at the square from the road.....3 courses 9€....bit more in evening &, I must say, not impressive in the evening a couple of years ago....but lovely place to eat outside on a sunny day!
