Hi I've just got back from Carvoeiro and was told by the people of our group who went on the train that it "only" cost 3 Euro per person. The grandparents enjoyed it so much that they went on it twice. In Quarteira however, they charge 2 Euros and it lasts longer apparently. Cannot comment from pers...

Adrian, I'm green! I'd certainly go for it, judging by the pictures on the web. I know this sometimes isn't enough but it certainly looks very promising. I surfed round this site when our holiday was cancelled last minute, but another one (Vivenda do Barco) had already been booked. I spotted Casa Lo...

Hello Loretta No need to apologise. If you're head is anything like me, it'll be full of other stuff as well, so don't worry! Glad to hear that the Round Up Saloon is far enough not to be part of the party if you're not up for it, so to speak. I'll make sure we'll have a fantastic time as any ...

We will do our best to be as organised as possible before we head for Lisbon. If Ibis is booked, then we can always stop at a pensao or something - it doesn't have to be posh. However, we will book as soon as it's established for how many people as I don't fancy being stranded on a street in Lisbon....

Hi thanks for the warning re Ibis but we don't know how many people are definitely going to join us on our trip to Lisbon and I don't want to jump the gun. Could be just the two of us, could be four or even more. Will need to sort it face to face with the rest of the gang. We're too far apart to do ...

Thanks Loretta. Good to hear that the street the villas are on is meant to be quiet. Read in another book that the club "Round Up Saloon" is on Estrada do Farol as well, which I found a bit worrying (call me an old granny but when you're ready to kip, the last thing you want is thumping disco/club m...

Festival de Sao Antonio, Lisbon - 12th and 13th June

Hi there Has anyone heard of this? How big is it? Does anyone know if this is all over Lisbon or just happening in certain districts of the capital? We'd love to go, hence my previous thread on how to get there from Carvoeiro. Any help/assistance would be much appreciated. Is the city easy to get ro...

On the map that was sent to us, it's close to the police station, just up the hill off Estrada do Farol. It's not that far from the centre square either. Well, map is not to scale but it looks like walking distance from there. Sadly, I don't know the name of the street/road the villa is on. Ri...

Thank you very much Martin. Appreciate all the tips. Would not risk doing a runner on the Metro though as you never know how high the fine for travelling without a ticket might be. Does anyone else know about the Festa de Sao Antonio? Maybe I ought to start a new thread on this.... We would probably...

Thank you very much. So, you're confused too?! Well, I guess the best bet might be to find out some more details locally re train/ferry. 8 a.m. start sounded good to me but if they start trains directly from Tunes (?) to Lisbon, that might even be better. Would hate to miss the ferry. If we do get t...

Just had a look on the website. Am a bit confused. Which linea/line is it and what is the train/ferry called? Don't want to get the wrong one.

Cheers

Hello there Guest

Thank you so much for the info. So, it would be 30 Euros by train and ferry return? I shall have a look at the website and see how frequently they are.

Thanks again, you are a mate!

Vivendo do Barco - anyone been?

Hi, I have another question: We'll be staying in the above villa and the webpages don't give too much away. Has anyone stayed there before? If so, what was it like? Sadly, our original villa, which was booked about a year ago, got cancelled earlier this week (due to double booking). Booked above pro...

Travel from Carvoeiro to Lisbon

Hello there Could anyone give me a few tips on what the best way to Lisbon is? Are there any trains going from Carvoeiro or nearby? I would like to go to Lisbon for the festial de Sao Antonio, apparently on the 12th-13th June. However, I'm not sure how to get there. Could anyone help, please? Cheers...
