im looking to go to Carvoeiro for new year celebrations, with my family (dec 28th - jan 6th).

Are the bars and restaurants open at this time of year, or is Carvoeiro more of a summer season place?

I would be grateful of anyones Knowledge about Carvoeiro at this time of year.
