How would I get from Cvo to the centre of Lisbon by rail?

Could anyone help me? I am looking on making a trip for a day or 2 in September when I am in Cvo and I am looking for help on what is the fastest and or easiest way to get there and also which station is the one that is situated in the centre of Lisbon? I am going by rail as I am too shit scared to drive round the city!!

Also any ideas on how to book and what rough costs of a return journey is.

had looked at that thanks but am i better going to lagos for a train or Albefuiera or is there a better option anyone can tell me about? Also which one of the Lisbon stations is the most central?

Take the car to Tunes (about 15mins from CVO) and pick it up there. It runs from Faro to Lisbon stopping at various stations but always Tunes as it is a junction and picks up any passengers from Lagos and Portimao. The parking at Tunes is very good and free. I would echo Mike's advice to travel from Tunes. We picked a friend up from there who came down from Lisbon - Tunes train station is just north off the motorway near Albufeira, really easy to get to. Don't know what the cost was but it is bound to be much cheaper than the equivalent journey in the UK - journey time is around 2 and a half hours and the Alfa Pendular trains going from Oriente Station go every couple of hours - some stop more than others. If you put 'Alfa Pendular trains in Portugal' into Google I think you should find a link to timetables. We spent 4 days playing tourist round Lisbon last October and we very impressed with the cheap and various transport options available in the city. On one of the days we took a train out to Sintra and then got a bus back along the coast which was a good way of seeing different bits of the countryside.

We did the same as Alison. There is plenty of parking at Tunes. We booked our tickets, and the hotel at the travel agent near Elle and Ella

We got the train from Silves station last June - it connected with the train to Lisbon at Tunes.
Booked the ticket on the internet, which reserved a numbered seat on the Lisbon train.
The best station to get off in Lisbon is 'Entrecampos', as it is only a short taxi ride to the centre of Lisbon from there.
We spent 2 nights there last June, and would recommend Lisbon for a short break. The open top bus tours are a great way to see the city - you can get on and off when and wherever you like.

We are planning a trip to Lisbon from CVO in a few weeks time for a couple of days. Any suggestions on central, reasonably priced hotels?

Cant really recommend any hotels as i've never stayed in Lisbon.
