Hi
We are coming out to CVO next weekend and can't wait! This is our third time here. We have not tried this restaurant before, but like the sound of it from previous posts. The last post was April this year, has anyone been to Palmeira recently? And will we need to book or just turn up?

We visited Palmeira 3-4 times this summer too and same standards
and as good as ever. I´ve been visiting North of Portugal for years
in business and I think Palmeira is the most genuine restaurant around
central Carvoeiro - that´s why we like it. Service is good and it is a
relaxed feeling over it all.
Took some Portuguese friends there and they liked it, didn´t feel like
a tourist-trap for them either.
Please write back with your impressions later.

Thunderbolt took me to dinner at Palmeira last September and it was really good..nice relaxed atmosphere, away from the madding crowds,an enjoyable evening
Very nice meal and the chocolate mousse was very tasty too
I've had 'tastings ' of chocolate mousse at various restaurants on my visits and the Palmeira one comes a close 2nd to Fatima's at Colombos..
In my opinion, shes queen of the mousse makers

I agree with all the positive comments about A Palmeria - definitely one to try if you like fish; the cataplanas and seafood rice are both excellent. We usually try to go at least once every June and the quality of food and service has always been of a high standard.
Its in a good location too; easier to park than on the Hill.

Palmeira
Only open evenings and shuts for a fair stretch in "winter". Good food as everyone else says and sensibly do things like fish caldeirada for one person.

Still to tired, hungover and full up after an eating and drinking binge in the best location ever. Carveoiro has to be one of the best places.
We got back from Carvoeiro on the 10th. Missing the place terribly!
Already looking to go back.
We went to the Palmeira three times, one of our favourites now. Owner Rui, and Donato were very friendly with a great sense of humour. Olga, Rui's wife cooks the food which was all delicious. And atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. Definitely worth going to. Really glad we found it through CVO forum
