Walk Tuesday 10th Dec: TWO RIVERS
Walk Tuesday 10th Dec: TWO RIVERS
As our Walk Director is returning to the UK on 5th Dec he has asked if I could organise a walk for the 9/10th. There have been a few requests to do the popular "Two Rivers Walk" and this is what we will do, nice and simple and not too energetic - Tuesday (10th) so we can take advantage of the Mira Rio Restaurant!
Details are:
TUESDAY 10th DEC @ 10am
This popular walk is by the confluence of the Arade and the Odelouca around the Ilha de Rosario with beautiful views and bird watching opportunities. Distance about 9km, approximately 2hours, depending on stops. There are two options we can take and a decision will be made on the day. The first option is the simple flat circular option, or the second is up and over the top, slightly more energetic but rewarded with some wonderful views.
Directions: from CVO, cross the bridge into Silves & turn left on the N124 towards Monchique/Portimao. After a little under 5 km you will see the Mira Rio cafe & restaurant on your left after a sharpish right hand bend. Parking is at the café. You can also take the N124 from Portimao to Silves and the café is 5km on the right.
Stout trainers/boots & a bottle of water suggested! Take your binoculars if you are a bird watcher. A walking pole is certainly useful. All walks at your own risk, no charge. We will not be walking in pouring rain and any cancellation will be posted by 8:30am on the day.
The restaurant should be open for refreshments at the start and end of the walk. They also do a set menu within our 10 euro budget, including tips etc. for anyone wishing to join us for lunch.
Please put your name down if you would like to join the walk and also indicate if you are staying for lunch.

Hello Willie,
I'm afraid I have to cancel for both myself and Nicholas. I forgot I'm driving Nicholas to the airport that day.
Enjoy your walk, I'm sorry to miss it!

A lovely sunny clear day and fourteen walkers: Willie & Carol, new girl Chantal, George & Aileen, Karen & Caroline, Mike, Don, Russell, David, Ken and David & Mieke. We went over the top and were rewarded with fine views back to Silves and across to Portimao. A lovely lunch was had at Mira Rio with money going to our Charity. Nice day.
