EXTRA WALK AT ODIAXERE, THURS 7TH MARCH
EXTRA WALK AT ODIAXERE, THURS 7TH MARCH
This is the first of the extra Thursday walks at Odiaxere in the absence of Geoff. Thurs 7th March.
Degree of Difficulty ( scale 1:5) : It is a 1, easy, without doubt and there are bird watching opportunities at the river.
Directions: Drive to Lagoa and turn left on the N125 until you get to Odiaxere, a village on the N125 between Portimao and Lagos, about 15 miles to the west of Carvoeiro.
Meet in the square next to the church in the centre of Odiaxere. Coming from Portimao it is on LHS, look for the orange golfe sign. There is plenty parking and cafes close by.
We will find somewhere local for lunch after the walk so please indicate if you wish to stay for lunch.
10.00am start
Usual caveats: all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain.....I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.
Walking boots/stout trainers , walking pole(s), hats and water recommended but not really necessary. No charge, of course.
To give us an idea of who is attending please post your intention on the forum.

A belated report on our Odiaxere Walk. There were eleven of us: Willie & Carol, Rod & Gail, Frank & Iva, Karen & Caroline, David & Mieke & Anne. The weather was perfect for walking and we did the walk in 2hrs 10 mins. The last bit along the levada is still blocked off so if you are planning to do this walk you need a slight detour at the end. I have written instructions for this walk if anyone wishes to do again. I thought I could post it here and a piccie Rod took but failed miserably!
We all then went to O Caseiro at Arao for lunch.
