Carvoeiro is not very friendly towards the less mobile, what with the hills and cobbles. Providing a nice walkway might encourage more visitors. The ones at Alvor and AdP are very popular.

Great video. Have you yet seen anyone making love under it, as per the song?

Yes but they chased me off when I started filming them. :)

but it should be dangerous anyway
i noticed from the seaside (trip with St. Bernarda) that all shorings of the walk are not aligned with stringers
regard the start-pic of the video
so in any case of heavy issues (storm..) the construction might collapse in a domino effect
fingers crossed

have to say it will be good for us, we come to CVO every year and my brother who has 'downs' finds the pavements hard going, it will be good for him to have a nice flat surface and a great view too 8)

Have you been to Armacao de Pera? There's a nice walkway there that goes across a nature reserve with wading birds. It's on the far side of town and there are a couple of disabled bays. Armacao also has a nice promenade with a good surface.

Walked along the boardwalk yesterday. Much better and safer than when I walked it last.

Shame it's so high off the ground though....the one at Salgados is only about a couple of feet high , this one is about 4 feet...whilst it's a falling hazard for children, it also makes it stand out very starkly : wish it had been lower.

I think the height is down to the undulating terrain. Any lower and it would have been a switchback. It will soon blend in and become part of the scenery.

I enjoyed early morning strolls along boardwalk and given the number of other walkers, seems popular with all ages.
