Re: clifftop boardwalk
Carvoeiro is not very friendly towards the less mobile, what with the hills and cobbles. Providing a nice walkway might encourage more visitors. The ones at Alvor and AdP are very popular.DVBRO wrote:Oh dear, all these comments about the Boardwalk. Can someone please explain to me as why it is being constructed, who is paying for it and for whom does it benefit?

Great video. Have you yet seen anyone making love under it, as per the song?

have to say it will be good for us, we come to CVO every year and my brother who has 'downs' finds the pavements hard going, it will be good for him to have a nice flat surface and a great view too

Have you been to Armacao de Pera? There's a nice walkway there that goes across a nature reserve with wading birds. It's on the far side of town and there are a couple of disabled bays. Armacao also has a nice promenade with a good surface.piggywidden93 wrote:have to say it will be good for us, we come to CVO every year and my brother who has 'downs' finds the pavements hard going, it will be good for him to have a nice flat surface and a great view too

Walked along the boardwalk yesterday. Much better and safer than when I walked it last.
Re: clifftop boardwalk
agree with Sam, was on it last week and it was much better than June.sam wrote:Walked along the boardwalk yesterday. Much better and safer than when I walked it last.

Re: clifftop boardwalk
Shame it's so high off the ground though....the one at Salgados is only about a couple of feet high , this one is about 4 feet...whilst it's a falling hazard for children, it also makes it stand out very starkly : wish it had been lower.

I think the height is down to the undulating terrain. Any lower and it would have been a switchback. It will soon blend in and become part of the scenery.

Re: clifftop boardwalk
I enjoyed early morning strolls along boardwalk and given the number of other walkers, seems popular with all ages.
