Who are the CVO Ramblers readers?

Post by Geoff »

Well, it's a wet sunday in the UK ( quelle change , or whatever that is in Portuguese) , so a quiz for readers!

I have been intrigued for some time over who actually reads sites such as this.....for example, Mike & Su's walk at Torres had 5 people on it.....you might expect them to check details once or twice, and perhaps look at the photo after....so perhaps 20 visits max : then there are those who might have been interested in going, but couldn't, so double that figure?

Surprisingly, that entry had 228 viewings , which climbed by a hundred in the week or so after I posted the photo...and its now 422!......I expect it will climb even more now, as the curious investigate, see :
viewtopic.php?f=39&t=24700

So, who are all you Rambller Viewers?.....don't be shy, came and join us! I'll be leading a programme starting in November.

Hi Geoff. I normally look at the postings even though I shan't be out there until November, when I hope to join you.

Well I look from time to time however I will probably be settling west of Lagos so I suspect your walks will be too far away from me.

Hi Rugbynut...thanks for input......we do some walks around Alvor & hope to exlore a potential new one in November on the Lagos side of the estuary....The coastline Luz to Burgau is a favourite, so perhaps we can organise an excursion your way!

Hi Colin.....that was quick!

This is the walk we were thinking of : probably too long, but looks as if it could be trimmed...we don't know Meia Pria though & wondered if that could be a start point, ideally one with a cafe!
Do you know it?

Geoff, I'm told that Lagos Camara publishes a list of walks in October. Have you heard of this? Regards

Hi Colin...bearing in mind Michael's request, just wondering if you mean that the Camara will be publishing, in October, a list of walks ( which Michael can use in December) : or do you mean that they will be publishing a list of Walks that will be organised in October ( & hence of no use to Michael in december!).

Hopefully, it is the former : Silves Camara do one, but it isn't particularly helpful.

Julie Stratham has some good walking books , if you weren't aware...and there are a number of walking groups in the Algarve ( Hash House Harriers, Wednesday Walkers.....and Juile's own walks, but she charges 5€/person....) though none ( as far as I know) specifically in the Lagos region.

Geoff thanks for that. The list that I mentioned is hearsay, but I have a friend going out in October who will look into it for me (us)
