Nothing Really
I cannot believe that there has been no Topic since February. Has everybody sold up. If not have you received an email asking for you opinion on the last ideas to improve upgrade facilities at RB. The suggestions are
1/ Covered swimming pool
2/ WIFI in all apartments
3/ Pool/ Table tennis etc in somewere
4/ The employment of a person to be involved with teenagers
How would you owners rank these suggestions 1-4

Re: Nothing Really
When I get my own computer back I shall reply to them
1. Covered swimming pool
2. Wi-fi in villas.
Not bothered about the other 2, so don't have an opinion.
Hope the new "boss" is as good as Marianna Santos. A hard act to follow.

Wi-Fi and Pool, in that order.
No opinion regards the other two.
I shall be sorry to see Mrs S go. She will be a hard act to follow.

Re: Nothing Really
I was amazed at the AGM to find that the 'quote' RB had received for internet supplied to all units was for a WIRED approach. I was not surprised that the 'quote' for this was more expensive than the proposed cost of the new leisure centre / heated pool!
Investigation into other similar venues which have gone WiFi instead of cable have shown savings of up to 90% of the cabled cost. Why on earth was RB looking into wired internet? I hope that the new 'boss' is slightly more techno-clued up than his predecessor. And not related to any other RB employee...

Armacao de Pera shows what to do: Free WiFi Zone in the center!jaybee wrote:Why on earth was RB looking into wired internet?
Re: Nothing Really
Whilst I am all for being able to sit in my apartment and use my computer, do be aware that both Bar Tropical and the RB cafe provide 'free' wi-fi connection.
I have met the 'new' man. Dr Rui and first impressions are good.

1. Covered Pool
2. Wifi
Will be interesting to see what the final payment scheme for the pool idea looks like. I am probably like many who would struggle to justify paying an additional maintenance charge due to the infrequent times I am there and that I rarely rent the villa out of season but would definitely be prepared to pay to use it once it was completed.
The point about the internet solution being wired is madness - I now understand why it was so expensive - as has been said lets hope the new man is more tech savvie and can find a more cost effective solution. I have a wireless router in the villa but due to the infrequency of visits only have a Sapo Pay as U go option on the connection and it is a bit of a pain to have to remember to turn off the router when not using it!

Re: Nothing Really
Am a new owner and came out in July and October.
My main priority would be WIFI access so I do not have to hang around the cafes at each end of the resort.
Would also like to see Court One in the Tennis area repaired as getting dangerous

Re: Nothing Really
As a long time owner on RB I felt that WiFi was a priority. Now I am not so sure. It has certainly slipped down my list. Over the past year I have had no problem with walking over to one or other of the bar/cafes that provide free WiFi access, having a coffee (or beer) while I check/write emails etc.
Re: Nothing Really
Tad bit less convenient now that RB C@fe is closed...
