Both seem very high, but without knowing what your usual charges are, it's hard to give ahelpful reply. If they are signicantly higher than for the same period last year, then you have probably suffered the same fate as others. I have written to the water department and asked for an explanation for my erratic billing pattern. I'm not expecting tob
much but I can but try.

Pato, they both appear to be very high for the periods covered.

OK, We are almost all in agreement that Lagoa Camera have their own method of reading and charging for water. But I honestly think that EDP are a reputable company. It's easy to read the electricity meter and easy to deduct previous from present. (Also very easy to set up a monthly direct debit which 'evens' out the whole year.)

If the present reading is correct and was the last reading was correct then your renters have screwed you good and proper.
if however either reading is incorrect ie last one too low then the answer lies there, present one too high and the answer lies there. Only you know the answer to the meter readings.

I honestly hope they made a mistake in the current reading, and you are due a refund.

Water August 15th to September 15th €127, Electricity 8th July to 7th September €420. This for a 5 bed 5 bath villa on 2000m2 plot with pool & irrigation. The villa was occupied throughout the period in question.

I think yours looks high pato although I'm having a much better year this year than previous ones.

Well my saga goes on and on.....My Water Meter hasnt moved at all since I left 1ST November there is nothing on and have been getting bills from 140 to one last week for 50 Euros, the Solicitor is sending readings at least once a month, so how do we all solve this problem, she wants copies of all my water bills again to try and sort but, I am not out now for another 6 weeks, this just isnt fair, anyone else had any joy? If the Solicitor cannot sort what hope have the rest of us??? Hope everyone had a good Crimbo and New Year Joex

is there ANY chance that your meter and somebody elses meter are not being confused by the camera official. You know your meter, but maybe, just maybe the camera have mixed it up with somebody elses.

It must have something to do with your meter or its readings if you have ruled out water theft.

Our last bill ( Dec ) was 24 euros, which covered time we where there and watering the garden etc.

Joanne, your solicitor cann't be doing her job properly. Has she taken a photograph of the meter reading and delivered it to the Water department? If not, then she should do immediately, and follow it up with suitably worded warnings to them to identify and rectify the error at their end.

I wrote to the water department about my erratic (and certainly incorrect, see earlier posts) water bills. They have simply replied that the meter readings were correct, which they absolutely were not. I cannot prove anything and have to accept my medicine, but have now sacked my villa manager for incompetence and indifference and asked my new villa manager to read the meters each month and email both myself and the water department.

But you have a water tight case. Just tell your solicitor to get her finger out.

Sorry to leak this but I think you're running to conclusions she might be struggling to keep her head above water. :)

Arrived last week and in the mail was my latest water bill from Lagoa Camera. no charge except for the standing charge. Same the month before. So in other words according to Lagoa Camera I used no water from 15/07 to 15/09, even though I was there for 15 days during this period. Then on Thursday last week the meter was read by an offical. For various reasons none of my family was out this year during the high summer period and I don't rent so not reading the meter from July until October does not really affect me that much. But all the apts around me are rented, pretty much full time. (Last Sunday morning the apt next to mine was vacated at 9am and re-occupied by new renters less than 2 hours later) I suspect this is a nice little earner for the Camera as it pushes the charges up the the 'escalator' and must mean substantially higher bills for bigger users.
