Irish Times
Went there for breakfast which is advertised from 9 a.m. we got there at 9.15 and ordered 3 full english brekkies. we got our newspapers out expecting a wait while it was being cooked but lo and behold 5 minutes later 3 breakfasts where served up, the bacon and sausages where obviously reheated in the microwave and were tough as old boots, the tinned plum tomato was luke warm on the outside and cold in the middle, the beans hadnt been warmed up in the microwave long enough and were tepid, I opened a butter portion which had totally melted and was like water!! and the whole breakfast was sitting on a plate of grease...I will not use this place again

Loretta, I can thoroughly recommend Ma Ja’s for breakfast – properly cooked by Mark and no grease.

Re: Irish Times
Hi Loretta,
Did you complain at the time? I have to say that I have never had a bad breakfast in Irish Times and I have used it a lot.

Re: Irish Times
Same here Craig, never had cause to complain but there's always a first.
Re: Irish Times
I too would like to know if you complained at the time? as the staff are superb there and it is renowned to be one of the best breakfasts in Carvoeiro, I can vouch for this after eating there many many times and recommending it to golfing groups of hungry men who have all been very impressed.
Re: Irish Times
Never had a problem in all the time its been open, some of the most welcoming staff in CVO and the food has always hit the spot perfectly
Re: Irish Times
As I have said before, why complain? There are plenty of other places to choose from, and clearly the kitchen felt that the food was acceptable, otherwise they would not have sent it out.
It is bad enough to be given duff food - why get the unpleasantness associated with complaining when it is rare that anyone is pleased to listen to you.

Re: Irish Times
ffm, I beg to differ on your comment 'why compain?' Graham, Stuart and all the staff at Irish Times would rather a customer complain than go away feeling disappointed and spread the complaint via a comment room on the internet........ all decent establishments would rather be told.
Re: Irish Times
Are you sure that is how a restaurant would react?
I made the mistake of making a complaint in that establishment a year or so ago - on my one and only visit - and it was rather badly received. I got no satisfaction from making the complaint and having discussed it with friends afterwards, then decided that if a kitchen cannot see for itself that something is not of the required standard then that is their problem and not mine.
If a restaurant delivers good food then there will not be any complaints "spread about the internet". In which case there is no need to worry about it.
I am sure, given the option, owners of an establishment would rather the complaint were made on the day rather than on the internet - but in reality, when I complained, they were certainly not interested in listening to me!

Re: Irish Times
I didnt complain, Im on holiday and to be honest dont want the confrontation or hassle, I think by the 3 plates that were hardly touched and were sent back to the kitchen it would have given them a fair idea that all wasnt right, and If they are happy to send out food that quick swimming in grease in the first place and knowing it isnt freshly cooked then why do I need to tell them its crap, they should have some idea of that themselves.

If the food is so bad you don't want to eat it don't pay.

Re: Irish Times
I just wont go back....There are plenty of other places to go to, these restauarants need to realise that customers will vote with their feet and go elsewhere.
