WALK ON 13th JAN: VALE FUZEIROS
Posted: Mon Jan 06, 2025 9:13 pm
I have been asked to organise the next walk.
This will be one of the Classic CVO Rambler walks. It is circular, well marked but with a few hills to start with and a wee bit of history - Beautiful views, ancient menhirs & tombs!
Duration : about 2h00m, may be slightly less
Degree of Difficulty ( scale 1:5 ) : 3, energetic with a few up and downs near the start.
Start: 10am
Directions :
From CVO. Drive from CVO to Silves, go over the bridge and turn right and follow the N124 for about 7 kms until you see a turning on the left signposted "Barragem do Arade 3 kms".......the signpost is in a small triangular traffic island, which has a large palm tree on it. Drive in the direction of the Barragem for 1km when there is a cafe on the left (A Rainha): turn right, signposted Canhestros and Gregorios. Drive through both Canhestros and Gregarios for 3kms then make a sharp left turn, almost doubling back on yourself. Drive for 2kms until you come to a T junction at the top of the hill, turn right. We will meet and park at Casa de Vinha (hopefully where we will lunch) and this is on the RHS - if you get to O Gralha restaurant you have gone too far!
It is ESSENTIAL that you indicate if you can come and whether you want lunch. We will take and submit orders for lunch before we leave but if you wish one of the house specialities (liver and onions!), then you will need to pre order this by Friday at the latest.
Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain. I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.
Any questions, please call Willie W on +44 7715174723 or willie.whitesmith@gmail.com
