WALK - MONDAY 16 DECEMBER 2024 - ALCALA

[Linda and Russell]

Linda and Russell will be leading this walk in a beautiful hidden valley with lots of baragems and wildlife. It is 8kms and about 2 hours, two gradual uphills the rest reasonably flatish with a short section on an overgrown path. Some easy water crossings. Usual rules apply: wear suitable footwear, bring a drink, walk at your own risk and no charge.
Meeting point: Cafe Andre at Alcalar. Meeting time: 9.45am. Then we drive a few kms to the start of the walk.
Directions to the cafe: Go West along N125, just after Alvor turning and Penina Golf turn right onto M532. Follow this road passing under a small tunnel and over the motorway bridge. After a few kms the cafe is on the left and parking just opposite. Please indicate below if you are joining us. We can go for lunch at O Tasco after for the set menu.

Great weather for walking with our nice small group. Lots of water and wet grass and we got across the river crossings on stepping stones. Cafe O Tasco was closed so we drove over to Rasmalho and 6 of us enjoyed a very nice Chicken Piri Piri lunch with all the trimmings.
